If you are an athlete, we highly suggest the use of an orthodontic mouthguard while you are in braces. This is not only used to protect your teeth, but also your lips and cheeks should a significant bump to the face occur. These specific guards must be used instead of a melted mouthguard so your braces can continue to move your teeth without interference. We provide complimentary mouthguards to our patients, but if you would like a different style, other orthodontic guards are available at sporting goods stores.
